April 17th is the Fast of the First Born in memory of the suffering of the ancient Egyptians at the time of the 10th plague and the Exodus. This is traditionally a dawn to darkness complete fast from all food and drink. When there is a celebration marking the completion of a tractate of Talmud, this takes precedent and everyone present at the celebration does not need to fast.
Join Rabbi Shalom (Hillel) and Rabbi Shlomie (Chabad) as they mark the conclusion of 30 months of Talmud study. Brief Talmud class will be followed by a light brunch at Hillel.
